Easter has always meant something powerful to me—something real. Growing up in New York City, I saw a lot of brokenness, and for a long time, I was part of it. I chased the world, found trouble, and nearly lost myself along the way. But when God stepped into my life, He didn’t just clean me up—He resurrected me.
The same power that raised Jesus from the dead took a man with a drug habit and a hard heart and gave him new life, new purpose, and new hope.
The resurrection isn’t just a story from two thousand years ago—it’s happening every single day. I’ve seen men who came here with nothing rise up again, restored and renewed by God’s grace. That’s Easter. It’s proof that no matter how deep the grave looks, God can lift you out.
When I think of the empty tomb, I think of second chances—the kind I was given, and the kind I now get to witness through the lives of the men we serve. Christ’s victory over death reminds me daily that with Him, there’s always life beyond the darkness.
