After 23 years of addiction, Richard and Robert Williams made a decision one night, without consulting each other. Although the identical twins were living together and had been constantly connected for all of their 51 years, they each made a hard choice on their own. They reached out to different family members to ask for help. Within days, they were both on their way to treatment, in locations far from their Annapolis home.

Robert went to Teen Challenge in Rochester, NY, and Richard came to Pivot Ministries in Bridgeport CT. That was in September 2007 and today both are leaders in organizations that help men who are struggling to escape from the place the twins know all too well.

Recently, Richard and Robert told their story to NBC's Today Show host Craig Melvin. It was, he said, a great example of resurrection. Now Richard leads Pivot Ministries, and Robert has just become CEO of Open Door Mission, a faith-based non-profit addressing poverty, homelessness and addiction in Rochester.
